How did Thanksgiving become so commercialized? Over time, the Thanksgiving holiday has taken-on commercial significance, and businesses (large and small) are playing a major role in this transition. It is now difficult (next to impossible) to reverse the transition, but still, consider connecting to this holiday with grace and meaning.
Here are two approaches that should each ensure that your heart is as full as your plate (so-to-speak!):
Have an Attitude of Gratitude: Remember that it’s not happy people who are thankful, but rather thankful people that are happy. Make a list of things in your life that you are especially thankful for. The list for our staff includes getting to ‘play’ with fabulous fall-foliage colored gems during this season, witnessing so many of our customer's ‘family expansions’, and sending gratitude to colleagues in our manufacturing facilities who go above-and-beyond, to turn around custom-orders by or before promised delivery dates!
Take Action on Giving: Think of finding ways to give back to your community this season, especially if it’s something local that you care about.
Finally, we’d just like to thank you all for your continued support and patronage, and also for reading our newsletters – we hope you enjoy them and find them inspiring!
